This is extremely biased because a locked device is much harder to hack compared to a device in active use. I have a MacBook and a Lenovo currently and if both were turned off and the FBI broke into my home, the Mac would be hacked in no time (bc I am to lazy to enable encryption on it and it doesn't have the T2 chip yet) whereas the Lenovo would be essentially unhackable bc It has full disk encription with 256 bit AES. ——— Original answer ——— In the las “Pwend to own” competition, a Windows, OSX and Linux systems were set up. If you managed to get into the system w/o physically accessing it, you won the machine. What where the results, drumroll… The OSX machine was the first one to fall, shortly followed by Windows and nobody managed to hack into the Linux machine. So yes and it is easier than what Apple and the Macboys would like to admit. But OSX and MacBook do come with very good security out of the box.
