I want to self-publish a novel. Should I do this through Amazon or create a website and allow people to download my e-book as a PDF?

First, congratulations on finishing this “novel”. Writing a 1,000,000-word story is a mighty achievement, and you should take a good moment to celebrate. Now, to answer your question. Will a publisher consider your book? No. If you mention it’s a 1,000,000-word novel, the publisher (or agent) will immediately throw your query letter into the slush pile. Commercial publishers are looking for commercial books, i.e. books that stand a chance to sell. 99% of commercial fiction novels that sell are 70–100k words long. So if you’re querying publishers for a book that doesn’t fit into that range, you’re going to get rejected. So if you’re looking for a traditional publisher, break up your work so that the first instalment is 70k-100k words long, and then query agents/publishers with that first instalment (you can read some tips on approaching publishers here). If t take it on, and if it’s successful, then t’ll be interested in the other instalments in the series. Bear in mind publishers won’t acquire a 10-book “series” from a first-time author — t’ll acquire the first book in the series, and then the rest if it’s successful. “No, it can't be broken up into a series” I’m sorry, but I fully concur with Derek Murphy’s advice. yes, it can be broken up into a series, and it should. If all your books in the series are available, and if the reader enjoys reading them, t’ll carry on from a book to the next without even thinking about it. So if it doesn’t change anything for the reader, why should it change anything for you? Think of A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones). it is one story, right? And yet, it is being released in several books, most of them ending on a huge cliff-hanger… And actually, depending on the country/language it was released in, the publishers broke off the story into different books (you’ve got 6 in the US, 19 in France, for example). As Derek mentioned, the fact you wrote a 1,000,000-word long story is an awesome thing marketing wise. If you break it up into 10 books and publish those all at once on Amazon, with the right marketing, you’re going to get a huge ranking boost (read why here). You can also pull them together into an omnibus. The more content you have available, the more marketing opportunities. If you decide to self-publish it as a 1M-word ebook, not only will you loose all that marketing potential, but no one is going to buy it, because no one buys novels that are 1M words long.

Create PDF: All You Need to Know

Why is that? Because the average sentence length in the United States is about 13 words long, while an PUB or MOB e-book's average sentence length is 25-25.5 words long, depending on the e-book format. This isn’t just an American thing. There is a “word minimum” in the United Kingdom, too — the average sentence length in an PUB e-book is 15 words, and the average sentence length in a MOB e-book is 26 words. This is something many writers want to avoid. To give you an idea of what that means for a novel that’s 1,000,000 words long — if that novel can make it to the top 10 of Amazon’s Kindle Best Sellers list, the Amazon publisher will earn around 2,000 for that book. If that book didn’t make it in the top 10 on Kindle Best Sellers, but you sell more than 500 books on.
